Sunday, May 19th, I will be joining the Big Money In Jazz band onstage at this year’s Jazz on Fourth festival. The festival raises money for Berkeley High School’s Jazz program. We are going up on Stage #2 at 1pm. A great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

‘HIP IT UP!’ 3 week workshop at Jazzschool

REGISTER NOW!!! this 3 week – 9 hour workshop begins on May 5th and runs for 3 Sundays in a row. Come join me as I help students along the path of discovery through developing style and improvisation. Learning to sing from your authentic voice takes time and courage. It’s actually very easy once you get the hang of it. We will begin our first class with identifying past masters of jazz vocals. The masters teach us everything, if we have the ears to hear. You do not need to scat sing to attend this workshop. The next following sessions are about taking the first steps towards your ability to add some ‘hip’ improvisation or subtle movement to your melody line that will begin to change the interpretation. It’s gonna be fun! so sign up soon!!
