I’m looking forward to playing at this house concert venue ’round the corner from my new digs here in Oakland. The home owner decided nothing better suited his skills for construction and his passion for music than for him to open up the ‘back of his kitchen’ into a 30-foot ceiling wide open music room with capacity for about 65 folks. Of course if you add a good sound and lights, a great piano and full backline including drums then you are perfectly set-up to present music in one of today’s favorite ways…the house concert.

Joining me on the 26th is Peter Barshay and Ben Stolorow. Piano, bass and voice. A very acoustically saturated evening of music.

Seattle weekend ahead

This upcoming weekend I’m headed up to Seattle for a house concert and a workshop. It’s been years since I’ve been to Seattle or the Northwest Coast. I can feel and smell it in my mind right now.

Well, I’d invite you out to the concert, but it’s already SOLD OUT. It’s a very intimate room of 35 seats. I am planning to return to the area as soon as I can. The whole Northwest Region appears to be crazy for the music I make. So, I said to myself, why not come and perform live for everyone while I am still able? Hell, I’m not getting any younger. Who is?
And, who knows what’s right around the corner for all of us crazies?
