VIDEO RELEASE – “Everything Must Change”

A music video to benefit Marriage Equality starring Kellye Gray

Once recorded by Nina Simone in 1978, “Everything Must Change” is a soulful jazz standard turned video starring Kellye Gray and takes place atop the stunning cliffs of San Francisco’s Fort Funston and inside the city’s glamorous Jardinière restaurant. Created to express the inevitability of perpetual change in life the film spotlights the specific need for evolution in the Marriage Equality Movement, which, in California, is at a history-making pinnacle.

The rich visuals follow jazz singer Kellye Gray as sage, her internal thoughts focused on one same-sex family sharing the emotional moments of marriage. With the camera in constant motion, the imagery highlights scenes of change in a timeless black-and-white motif, capturing Kellye singing on the beach, the family playing by the sea and the couple’s wedding day in San Francisco.

In light of this November’s election in California—where a ballot amendment could deny our constitutional right of marriage—we will partner with advocacy organizations to disseminate the message that, truly, everything must change. Come December, we will focus our efforts on the rest of the world.

Blast from the past in San Francisco! Heard one of your recordings recently so on a whim I googled your web site. Great video – especially for those of us who have been out on the street fighting the good cause. Really enjoyed “Footprints” and some other tunes I had not heard. Glad to know you’re doing well and still tending the artistic fires. Say hey back if you get a hankering.

    Best always,
